Begins at School

Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (Girl School) is a scheme, properly known as KGBV, initiated by Government of India to bridge gender and social category gaps at all levels of school education. One of the major objectives of the Samagra Shiksha (Overall Education) is to encourage the participation of girls in education.

The Scheme provides access and quality education to girls from disadvantaged groups in the age group of 10-18 years aspiring to study in Classes VI to XII; belonging to SC, ST, OBC, Minority communities and BPL families. KGBVs at upper primary level have been extended to provide residential and schooling facilities up to Class-XII under the Scheme.

The call is to support the girls in 8h & 9th standards of KGBVs with computers and up skilled tutors

  • The tutors will be up skilled to impart:
  • Basic computer skills, technical skills.
  • Applicable thinking skills, like making coding a part of the subject content area.
  • Problem solving, background planning.
  • Creativity and critical thinking.
  • Cause and effect, sequence, make inferences and other cognitive skills.

Narayanpet district has 11 KGBVs. The district administration could provide the support in one KGBV.

10 more KGBVs require the support. Each KGBV require procurement of computer sand skilling & upskilling teachers. Each of the KGBV budget estimation is Rs. 600000(7853 USD). Total budget required is Rs. 6000000(78533 USD)
